Salary Range: $90,000-$95,000 AUD per annum + superannuation

The Role: Senior Hotel Accountant

The Senior Hotel Accountant is a key finance leadership role supporting the Precinct Director of Finance in the day-to-day operation of the Finance Department. The position provides a higher level of ownership and technical accounting oversight than the Hotel Accountant role, while supporting the Finance Manager across month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, reconciliations, internal controls, audit readiness and continuous improvement. The role acts as a key point of contact for operational leaders and provides guidance and coaching to finance team members.

Key Duties:

• Support the Precinct Finance Manager in overseeing accurate and timely day-to-day financial operations.
• Take ownership of assigned accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliations, journals, accruals, cost allocations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy, appropriate coding, approvals and compliance with Accor policies and hotel procedures.
• Provide technical accounting support and guidance to the Hotel Accountant and wider Finance team.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, unusual transactions and reconciliation variances, escalating material issues as appropriate.
• Support effective internal controls and financial processes across the hotel/precinct.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant hotel accounting or general accounting experience, with demonstrated experience at Hotel Accountant or equivalent level.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end accounting, reconciliations, journals, accruals and financial reporting.
• Previous experience with hotel payroll processing and knowledge of relevant awards, agreements and statutory requirements.
• Working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash handling and internal financial controls.
• Experience supporting audits, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
