What you will be doing in this role:
The Senior Cash Management Analyst is responsible for the daily management of cash operations, liquidity reporting, cash forecasting, banking administration, treasury operations, and funding activities across Cedars-Sinai Health System. The position supports cash management, short-term investments, debt service administration, treasury compliance, and banking relationships while ensuring strong internal controls and regulatory compliance. The role serves as a key liaison between Treasury, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Foundation, Finance leadership, banking partners, and other financial institutions to support efficient and effective treasury operations. Responsibilities include using treasury management system and:
- Responsible for daily cash management activities across all health system bank accounts, including payroll, restricted, and investment-related accounts. Reviews daily cash positions and ensures appropriate funding levels are maintained throughout the organization. Develops, maintains, and analyzes short- and long-term cash flow forecasts. Monitors Accounts Payable disbursements and assess impacts on liquidity and funding requirements. Executes daily treasury transactions including wire transfers, ACH payments, intercompany transfers, and funding transactions. Reconciles daily cash activity and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepares and distributes daily cash position reports, liquidity analyses, cash forecasting reports, and variance reporting.
- Administers bank accounts across the health system and affiliated entities, including account openings, closures, maintenance, and authorized signatory administration. Supports Executive Director as liaison with commercial banks, financial institutions, and trustees. Coordinates banking services, products, and onboarding requirements, including Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation. Supports bank fee analysis, service optimization, and relationship management activities. Maintains complete, organized, and audit-ready treasury and banking documentation.
- Collaborates with Treasury leadership in the review, placement, and reinvestment of short-term investment securities, including Treasury bills, commercial paper, agency securities, and money market funds. Analyzes and reports on investment portfolio performance, liquidity, and yield. Monitors debt service obligations, lines of credit, and related payment schedules. Executes debt service and line-of-credit payments and ensure timely reconciliation. Serves as backup support for investment transaction execution when required.
- Supports internal and external audits through preparation of documentation and responses to inquiries. Maintains strong payment controls, authorization protocols, and fraud prevention practices. Ensures compliance with healthcare-specific financial policies and treasury procedures.
- Compiles and distributes daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc treasury reports. Supports month-end and quarter-end close activities by providing reconciliations, treasury schedules, and supporting documentation. Provides treasury data for internal management reporting and external financial reporting requirements. Analyzes cash, investment, and liquidity trends and escalate significant variances or issues.
- Uses Treasury Management Systems (TMS), ERP systems, and banking platforms to support treasury operations. Identifies opportunities for automation, process improvement, standardization, and enhanced controls. Participates in treasury system implementations, upgrades, and finance transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, healthcare administration, or related major required. Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, healthcare administration, or related major preferred.
- At least 5 years' experience in treasury operations, cash management, or related financial operations, preferably within a large, complex organization required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or similarly regulated, multi-entity environments preferred.
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation highly preferred upon hire.
