Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own assigned areas of the monthly close across multiple related entities — journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and roll-forward schedules — on a firm calendar
• Maintain cash reconciliations, compliance reporting, general accounting, internal controls, and cost accounting.
• Perform job-level cost accounting: allocate overhead, equipment, and labor to job classes and sites, and explain month-over-month movement in revenue and cost
• Reconcile intercompany and related-party activity between affiliated entities
• Support external audits needs by pulling supporting documentation
• Document procedures and improve them — we expect recurring work to get faster and more reliable each cycle
• This role requires both hands-on execution (reconciliations, month-end schedules, AP resolutions when needed) and analytical judgment (cost analysis, cutoff, and accruals).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required (advanced degree or certificate preferred)
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience assisting in maintaining books for multiple legal entities, including intercompany activity
• Job costing or project/WIP accounting experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of construction, trades, mining, heavy equipment, or related industries preferred
• QuickBooks and AP automation/invoice processing systems a plus
• Advanced Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, filters, and formula-driven schedules
• Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills
• High level of accuracy, efficiency, detail, and accountability
