Senior Accountant – Heavy Manufacturing

Our client is a private equity-backed manufacturing company in an active growth phase. They're hiring a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team and take ownership of full-cycle accounting for the site, with a strong emphasis on production and operational cost analysis.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real exposure to plant operations. You'll work closely with site leadership on cost control and operational efficiency, and you'll be the primary administrator for the company's ERP system.

What you'll do:

You'll produce the company's financial statements, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, in accordance with U.S. GAAP. You'll analyze actual results against budget and forecast, with particular focus on production costs, equipment utilization, and recovery rates. You'll prepare and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts including cash, inventories, asset retirement obligations, and fixed assets. You'll monitor standard costing and work-in-progress balances, support a strong internal controls environment, and prepare audit schedules for internal and external auditors.

What you'll need:

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience. At least 2 of those years should be in heavy manufacturing. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, cost accounting, fixed asset registers, and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, weighted average, standard cost) is essential. You should be advanced in Excel and comfortable administering an ERP system. CPA designation, active or in progress, is preferred but not required.
