Senior Accountant - General Ledger

At Steam Logistics, we're looking for a Senior Accountant – General Ledger who wants more than just another accounting job. We're looking for someone who enjoys digging into the details, improving processes, solving problems, and making a real impact on the business.

This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who's ready to take ownership, gain visibility with leadership, and build toward future people leadership opportunities. You'll play a key role in our month-end close process, oversee critical banking and reconciliation activities, and help us continue to scale and improve as we grow.

What You'll Do-

• Prepare and enter journal entries during month-end close
• Ensure transactions are coded accurately in the general ledger
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support close
• Manage daily bank reconciliations and related processes
• Release vendor payments on a daily basis
• Partner with internal teams to gather and interpret financial data
• Support annual audit requests and work with external auditors
• Help maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Identify ways to streamline and improve accounting processes
• Support internal controls across GL and bank reconciliation functions
• Assist with training new team members and identifying team development opportunities

What We're Looking For-

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close
• Experience performing account and bank reconciliations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Bonus Points For-

• Fixed asset accounting experience
• Corporate credit card compliance experience
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP/accounting systems
• Prior experience training or mentoring others
