Our mission

Money sitting idle is money lost. We're fixing that.

Founded in 2023 by Antoine and Paul-Adrien, Spiko gives SMEs, non-profits, financial advisers and fintechs access to institutional-grade cash management via app or API. We are building the full infrastructure: issuing, operating, and distributing the products ourselves.

Two years after launch, we serve thousands of organizations across Europe and process hundreds of millions of euros in flows every month.

Our ambition: become the world's leading treasury management infrastructure in a market worth trillions.

We are backed by Index Ventures, the CEO of Revolut, the founder of Kyriba, and the CTO of Wise.

Spiko runs on excellence, transparency, and straight talk

The role: Risk Manager

Spiko operates at the frontier of financial infrastructure, building products that don't have established playbooks. Every major choice we make needs to be assessed against its real risk implications. As Spiko scales, both in AuM and in the complexity of our financial infrastructure, we're building out a dedicated risk function to make sure we make the right choices as we grow. You'll be the first Manager, responsible for mapping, monitoring, and mitigating the risks across our regulated activity. You will also design the associated controls and build our internal control framework.

This is a role at the intersection of traditional asset management risk and the risks specific to on-chain infrastructure. Because so much of what we build is genuinely new, you'll often be the one shaping how we think about risk in the first place, not just applying an existing framework. You'll work closely with Compliance & Legal, Finance, Product and Tech, as well as external partners.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll have real autonomy in shaping Spiko's risk framework as the company expands across Europe.

Key responsibilities

Map and monitor risks

• Build and maintain Spiko's risk mapping across market, counterparty, operational, liquidity, compliance and technology risks

• Define and track key risk indicators (KRIs) and associated limits

• Produce regular risk reporting to the management and, where required, to the regulator

Strengthen governance regarding risk and design the internal control framework

• Define and build with each team the risk management processes and procedures to be sure that we take actions to mitigate all risks

• Develop and document risk management policies and procedures

• Design the level 1 controls associated with the risk mapping

• Engage with internal stakeholders to collect the data needed to implement the controls

• Act as the main point of contact for the outsourced internal control consultants and monitor their work

Support the development of Spiko

• Contribute to the risk review of new products and new activity

• Contribute to regulatory files, including as part of Spiko's UK expansion (FCA)

• Support relationships with external partners (depositary, valuation agent, banking partners) on risk-control matters

• Train and raise awareness among teams on risk topics

Who we're looking for

We're open to several backgrounds; what matters most is analytical rigor, the ability to structure new and complex topics, and a builder mindset in a regulated, fast-moving fintech environment.

Requirements (must-haves)

• 4-8 years of professional experience, ideally in a big 4 audit cabinet, at general inspection of a bank, or in the risk department in the finance sector

• Master's degree from a leading engineering school or business school

• Solid understanding of French and European regulatory frameworks (MiFID)

• Experience across our three main risk areas: compliance (AML/CFT, MiFID), financial (counterparty, liquidity, market and FX), and cyber.

• Strong analytical rigor and ability to structure complex, novel topics (little precedent exists on stablecoin infrastructure risk)

• Fluent in English

• Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in a fast-growing environment with processes still being built

Nice to have

• Exposure to digital assets / MiCA

• Familiarity with fund administration

• Notable achievement: built a risk framework, reduced incident rate, or scaled a control environment
