As a key player in the financial services marketplace of Northern Ontario, we are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a Risk Analyst. 

As a key member of the Operational Risk team, the Risk Analyst supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Credit Union’s fraud and operational risk management programs. The role helps safeguard the Credit Union’s assets and members by supporting proactive fraud prevention, detection, investigation, recovery, and risk mitigation activities in alignment with established policies, risk appetite, and regulatory standards.

The Risk Analyst monitors fraud detection systems, investigates suspicious activity, analyzes complex transaction patterns, and identifies opportunities to enhance fraud rules and scoring models while reducing false positives. The role conducts root-cause analysis, recommends internal control improvements, documents investigative findings, and prepares fraud trend and risk reporting. The Analyst also supports the administration of business resilience, insurance, and other operational risk programs, as well as the planning and execution of quality assurance and risk-based reviews.

Working collaboratively across business units and with external partners, the Risk Analyst provides timely risk management support and helps foster a strong risk-aware culture. The role also promotes fraud awareness by educating members and employees on fraud risks, prevention practices, and effective controls, contributing to the protection of members and a positive member experience.
