Job Summary:
The Regional Financial Controller (Europe) acts as the financial leader for the European market. This role is responsible for financial governance, performance management, and strategic financial planning across the region.
The position reports to the VP Finance (Global) and with a dotted line to Regional GM (Europe), ensuring strong alignment between global financial standards and regional business execution.
This role combines hands-on financial control with forward-looking financial analytics, supporting scalable growth and long-term value creation in the EU market.
Job Expectations
1. Regional Financial Leadership
Act as the finance lead for Europe, partnering closely with the Regional GM & Leadership team
Provide strategic financial guidance on growth initiatives, investments, and market expansion
Represent Finance in regional leadership discussions and annual planning cycles with HQ
Translate global financial strategy into regional execution
2. Financial Planning & Performance Management
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the European region
Own P&L performance, variance analysis, and actionable insights
Drive financial discipline and KPI tracking across markets
Support scenario planning and investment prioritization
3. Financial Analytics & Data Foundation
Build and scale a robust financial data infrastructure to support EU growth plans
Develop advanced financial analytics and dashboards for decision-making
Identify trends in customer behavior, pricing, and category performance
Partner with data and commercial teams to enhance profitability insights
4. Controllership & Compliance
Ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and adherence to global policies
Manage the quarterly (rolling 90 days) forecasting process for EU, and aligns with global
Oversee internal controls, audit processes, and risk management
Manage local statutory requirements across European entities
Act as a key interface with global finance, tax, and audit teams
5. Business Partnering
Serve as a trusted advisor to regional commercial, operations, and supply chain teams
Support pricing strategies, promotions, and margin optimization
Drive cost efficiency initiatives and operational improvements
Align financial goals with commercial execution
6. Team Leadership (Future Scope)
Build and lead a regional finance team as the organization scales (e.g. Account)
Develop finance capabilities in analytics, planning, and controllership
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience
12+ years of progressive finance experience, including:
Financial planning & analysis (FP&A)
Controllership / Big Four public accounting exposure
Business partnering in commercial environments
Experience in consumables industries strongly preferred like Grocery, Health & Wellness, or Beauty / Personal care.
Prior experience in regional or multi-country roles (Europe preferred).
Experience with Adaptive Planning (FP&A software), SAP (ERP), Tableau (BI tool) is a strong plus.
Experience in high-growth or e-commerce environments is a strong plus.
Skills & Competencies
Strong financial acumen with strategic mindset
Ability to operate as a “CFO” in a regional setup
Advanced analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
Strong stakeholder management across global and regional leadership
Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic leadership
Education
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
MBA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent preferred
