About the Role
Coast Hotels is looking for a Property Accounting Manager to handle accounting for several hotel properties. You will make sure our financial processes are accurate, follow the rules, and provide timely reports. You will also help hotel leaders understand finances, create budgets, and analyze financial data. This role includes guiding and supporting the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting
Close the books at the end of each month and year for multiple properties.
Prepare financial reports, account reconciliations, and analysis.
Monitor accuracy of Daily Business Reports.
Review and approve invoices and expenses in Workday, making sure they are coded correctly.
Supports PMS/POS, payroll and general ledger system integration to enhance reporting accuracy.
Run monthly accounting entries like accruals, allocations, depreciation, and amortization.
Prepare and file taxes and other government reports.
Assist internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
Share monthly reports with hotel General Managers, including profit and loss statements and property reports.
Team Leadership
Guide and support accounting team members, assign tasks, and make sure work is done on time and correctly.
Help out with accounts payable, payroll, and capital accounting when needed.
Answer questions from internal teams or external contacts about financial reports.
Assist the Director and General Managers with special projects and financial tasks.
Budgeting & Planning
Help prepare and monitor budgets for multiple hotels.
Make sure budgets support Coast Hotels’ goals.
Other Duties
Attend financial review meetings and weekly department meetings.
Review and track licenses, taxes, and contracts as assigned.
Suggest ways to improve processes to make them faster, easier, and more accurate.
Qualifications & Skills
Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or related field.
At least 5 years of general accounting experience; 1–2 years of payroll experience is preferred.
Working toward an accounting certification is a plus.
Experience with accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P).
Strong understanding of general accounting principles, internal controls, and company policies.
Highly accurate, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with Workday Financials and Adaptive Insights is a bonus.
Knowledge of hotel operations and property-level accounting is preferred.
