About the Role
The Property Accountant will perform and manage the following areas of responsibilities:
- Full-cycle accounting for multiple properties including A/P, A/R, GL, and bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Asset Management, and Operations teams.
- Prepare complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Create and review approximately 20 monthly property financial statements.
- Reconcile and monitor mortgage and escrow balances.
- Prepare monthly financial statements specifically for the owner.
- Assist in annual budget preparations and other ad hoc projects.
Qualifications
About You
- 2–3 years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Yardi Voyager, Yardi Job Cost, Elevate, Construction Manager, Payscan.
- Strong knowledge of cash and accrual accounting and US GAAP.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team player who can collaborate with other departments.
- Ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities, multitask, and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance strongly preferred.
