JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Project Accounting Coordinator will provide accounting and administrative support for Cole West’s land development and vertical construction projects. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate project accounting records, processing, and reviewing project transactions, tracking costs, and assisting with reconciliations and reporting.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with numbers, and able to communicate effectively with multiple departments and project teams

DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

• Review and code invoices to the appropriate project and budget accounts.
• Process and maintain project-related accounting transactions.
• Reconcile project accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with project cost tracking and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Review pay applications and supporting documentation.
• Assist with construction contracts and project accounting documentation.
• Maintain accurate project files and accounting records.
• Assist with lender and partner reporting and funding documentation.
• Coordinate with Land, Construction, Finance, and Accounting to meet project deadlines.
• Identify and communicate project accounting discrepancies or issues.
• Provide accounting support to the Finance team as needed.
• Assist with process improvements and other special projects.

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Real estate, construction, or project accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with financial information and identifying discrepancies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Experience with Newstar or other construction accounting software is a plus.
