The Procurement Specialist supports purchasing operations by pricing vendors, managing procurement data in the IQMS system, and helping ensure accuracy across purchasing and accounts payable. This role requires strong data skills, organizational abilities, and the flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and compare vendor pricing for materials, packaging, and services
- Track, organize, and maintain procurement data within the IQMS ERP system
- Support the Purchasing Director with real-time data and reports for decision-making
- Assist with invoice reconciliation, investigating discrepancies with vendors and AP to ensure balance
- Maintain and update procurement records, purchase orders, and vendor files
- Work closely with production and shipping to track deliveries, especially box truck schedules and related logistics
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets for cost tracking, supplier performance, and audit trails
- Support documentation of procurement processes for internal and external audits
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Quality, Receiving, AP) to ensure timely and accurate information flow
- Juggle multiple tasks with a high level of attention to detail and follow-through
Qualifications:
- Experience using IQMS or similar ERP systems strongly preferred
- Strong Excel and data mining skills required; ability to pull, analyze, and present purchasing data
- Background in plastic injection molding, extrusion, or packaging logistics a strong plus
- Previous experience with invoice matching and reconciliation processes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Effective communicator with strong follow-up and documentation skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
