Procurement Specialist

About You
As a Procurement Specialist, you will provide operational procurement and supply chain support to facilitate the effective procurement of goods and services. You will play a key role in reducing business risk by ensuring compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, processes, and agreed procurement practices.

About the Role
This position is integral to the success of our programs, where Babcock leads the management and maintenance of the Defence’s Anzac Fleet.

In addition, you will:

• Support competitive sourcing and tendering activities, including supplier engagement, response evaluation, scoring, and the recommendation of preferred suppliers to key stakeholders.
• Coordinate the supplier selection and approval process through to contract award, ensuring evaluation outcomes are thoroughly documented, auditable, and aligned with governance requirements.
• Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify capable and competitive suppliers that meet business requirements for goods, materials, and services.

To be successful, you will have:

• Relevant qualifications in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Finance, Commerce, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline, and/or demonstrated experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and capabilities.
• Procurement experience, ideally in an operational procurement environment;
• Experience preparing RFQs, sourcing materials or services, reviewing supplier responses or supporting supplier recommendations; and
• Experience with ERP or procurement systems such as IFS, SAP, SAP Ariba or equivalent tools is desirable. 

• Australian Citizenship and eligibility for a Defence security clearance
