Procurement Manager

The Role

Xaira is seeking a Procurement Manager at the leading edge of the function — a builder who treats procurement as a commercial engine and a proving ground for AI-enabled operations. You're obsessed with stakeholders: scientists, engineers, and business partners are your customers, and their success is your scoreboard. You'll inherit a strong foundation but you have an obsession to drive the function beyond the empirical high-bar.

What You'll Do

Operations Leadership

• Own end-to-end procurement operations: P2P process, sourcing, and technology enablement across all goods and services
• Drive adoption of our contract-first CLM framework while reducing cycle times
• Run procurement as a service business, with stakeholder experience as a core focus
• Support Accounting: PO hygiene, invoice-match resolution, accruals, vendor master data and close activities

AI Enablement

• Pilot and scale AI across the lifecycle: contract analysis, spend classification, supplier intelligence, negotiation prep, workflow automation
• Make Xaira's procurement a showcase for AI-augmented operations — measured in cycle time, coverage, and cost
• Translate the emerging procure-tech landscape into practical and adopted tooling

Supplier Engagement & Negotiations

• Lead sourcing events and negotiations across core life-sciences suppliers
• Structure agreements that protect Xaira's flexibility: competitive tension, cancellation frameworks and leading engagement terms
• Build supplier relationships that scale: performance management, risk monitoring and strategic partnerships

Procure-Tech, Data & Analytics

• Drive build-vs-buy decisions across the stack (P2P, CLM, sourcing, cost savings/avoidance) with an emphasis toward lean, high-leverage solutions
• Build spend analytics that turn data into decisions: category insights, supplier concentration, budget-to-actual
• Own data integrity across procurement and P2P systems

What You Bring

• 5+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain; biotech, pharma, or high-growth tech preferred
• Proven negotiation results on complex service agreements (CRO, services, and technology)
• Hands-on with modern procurement tools (Ironclad, Coupa, NetSuite, Ramp) and curiosity about what replaces them
• Practical AI fluency applied to real workflows — you can point to processes you've automated
• Strong analytics: spend analysis, dashboarding, supplier ecosystems, advanced metrics and analytics giving Xaira leverage as a competitive advantage among Xaira’s peer group 
• Stakeholder obsession - Building trust through accountability and delivery making Procurement an invaluable business partnership
• Concise, executive-ready communication
• Entrepreneurial: you find the gap, propose the fix, and ship it

Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, seeking to provide an open, flexible, and friendly work environment to empower employees and provide them with a platform to develop their long-term careers. A Summary of Benefits is available for all applicants. We offer a competitive package that includes base salary, bonus, and equity.  The base pay range for this position is expected to be $124,000 - $155,000 annually; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the market, job-related knowledge, skills and capabilities, and experience.
