POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to support the sourcing and commercial management of key food manufacturing inputs, including commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, and proteins. this person will work closely with Operations, R&D, Quality, and Finance to help ensure materials and external manufacturing services meet cost, quality, safety, and delivery requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Sourcing & Category Support
- Execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, including commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, and proteins, in partnership with Procurement Leadership.
- Support the development of category strategies aligned with cost, quality, service, and risk objectives.
- Manage day-to-day purchasing activity for assigned categories and co-manufacturing/co-packing partners, escalating key decisions as appropriate.
Cost Analysis
- Build and maintain should-cost models by breaking down supplier cost drivers (raw materials, yields, labor, energy, freight, overhead, and margin).
- Apply total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis to supplier selection and co-packer evaluations.
- Use data-driven analysis to question pricing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare supporting materials for negotiations.
Market Monitoring
- Track and report on market trends affecting commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, and proteins.
- Monitor commodity indices, supply/demand trends, inflationary pressures, and geopolitical or weather-related risks.
- Summarize market insights and recommend sourcing, contract, and pricing approaches for management review.
Supplier & Co-Packer Management
- Support supplier and co-packer selection, RFQ/RFP processes, contracting, and performance reviews.
- Participate in commercial negotiations covering price models, index-based pricing, capacity commitments, and SLAs, and lead negotiations on smaller or lower-risk agreements.
- Assist with supplier development efforts and dual-sourcing initiatives to reduce supply risk.
- Track supplier scorecards, delivery performance, and quality or service issues, and follow through on corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with Operations, Planning, R&D, Quality, Finance, and Engineering to support production, innovation, and growth.
- Support new product development and line extensions through early ingredient and co-packer engagement.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCES
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in food manufacturing or CPG.
- Exposure to sourcing commodities, ingredients, oils, sweeteners, or proteins.
- Experience with, or strong interest in, working with co-packers and co-manufacturers.
- Demonstrated ability to support supplier negotiations and cost improvement initiatives.
- Working knowledge of should-cost or cost breakdown analysis.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and basic modeling); ERP experience required (SAP preferred).
- Clear communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
