The selected candidate will be an employee of Public Health Solutions, a nonprofit organization which is the fiscal and administrative manager of the grant but will work and be supervised by DOHMH. This is a grant-funded position ending in November 2027.

Program Overview:

The Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness (CHECW) aims to eliminate racial inequities resulting in premature mortality, with a focus on chronic disease, by addressing the social and environmental factors that impact health. CHECW works to increase placed-based investments in priority neighborhoods with community programming and services based on epidemiology; influence and leverage the health system to promote whole-person care; intensify the agency’s approach to tackling big salt, sugar, and tobacco; and finding innovative ways to improve the built environment and address other social determinants of health. CHECW is comprised of the Bureau of Bronx Neighborhood Health, the Bureau of Brooklyn Neighborhood Health, the Bureau of Harlem Neighborhood Health, the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention, the Bureau of Health Equity Capacity Building, the Bureau of Equitable Health Systems and the Bureau of Finance, Administration, and Services. In the event of a public health emergency as deemed by the agency (public health outbreak, natural disaster, etc.), employees may be mandated to assume an emergency response role. In these rare instances and when notified, staff will be re-assigned from their regular day-to-day duties as noted in this job description to take on another role considered necessary by the agency. When this occurs, all staff are required to comply with the change in assignment and must be prepared to be called upon promptly.

The selected candidate will support our contract and grant development programs and as well as a broad range of other procurement-related work. In addition, the Contract Manager/Procurement Analyst will handle related emergency as needed.

Job Description:

DOHMH has an opening for a Procurement Manager. The Procurement Manager will be one of four team members reporting to the Director of Contracts. The selected individual will handle the below job duties and responsibilities with great latitude for independence and perform work of moderate difficulty in the procurement of goods, services and in processing and maintaining of contracts.
