Position Summary
The Procurement Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating procurement activities that support energy generation operations in Puerto Rico. This role provides leadership and guidance to Procurement Specialists and other support personnel while ensuring the efficient, timely, and compliant acquisition of goods and services.
The Procurement Lead serves as a key liaison between project teams, operations, vendors, finance, and management, providing procurement oversight, resolving escalated issues, monitoring procurement performance, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate possesses strong procurement expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience operating within complex, asset-intensive environments.
Experience with Asset Suite or similar Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or procurement systems is required, with Asset Suite experience strongly preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee day-to-day procurement activities, ensuring timely execution of purchasing and sourcing processes.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to Procurement Specialists and junior procurement personnel.
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor procurement workloads to ensure deadlines and project objectives are achieved.
- Review and approve procurement documentation, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor selections, and procurement records.
- Manage the procurement lifecycle from requisition through purchase order issuance, delivery, invoice reconciliation, and closeout.
- Coordinate vendor sourcing efforts, bid solicitations, proposal evaluations, and supplier negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, company policies, contractual obligations, and procurement procedures.
- Resolve complex procurement issues, vendor disputes, delivery concerns, and escalated purchasing challenges.
- Monitor procurement performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
- Develop procurement reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership and client stakeholders.
- Support audits, documentation reviews, and procurement compliance assessments.
- Foster strong working relationships with vendors, project teams, operations personnel, finance teams, and leadership.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement best practices, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Engineering Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree or advanced professional training is a plus.
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant procurement leadership experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain management, contracts administration, inventory/materials management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, training, or overseeing junior procurement staff, coordinators, or specialists.
- Experience managing procurement activities within energy, utility, infrastructure, construction, industrial, engineering, or other asset-intensive environments.
- Experience using Asset Suite or similar EAM, ERP, or procurement management systems.
- Experience supporting procurement planning, vendor management, sourcing initiatives, and procurement reporting.
- Experience working in environments with strict compliance, documentation, and audit requirements.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and reporting tools.
- Strong experience using procurement, purchasing, inventory, ERP, and enterprise asset management systems.
- Ability to analyze procurement data, spend reports, vendor performance metrics, and purchasing trends.
- Working knowledge of strategic sourcing, vendor management, purchase order administration, contract administration, bid evaluation processes, procurement compliance requirements, materials and inventory management, invoice reconciliation, procurement reporting, analytics, and procurement closeout activities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting procurement activities within power generation, renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, construction, and engineering project environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with asset management programs, warehouse and inventory operations, spare parts procurement, maintenance materials management, vendor performance management, and procurement reporting and analytics
- Understanding of safety, reliability, compliance, and documentation requirements in regulated or mission-critical operating environments.
Language & Work Authorization Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Must be legally authorized to work in Puerto Rico.
- Must reside in Puerto Rico.
Preferred Certifications
The following certifications are preferred and may be considered an asset:
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)
- Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Microsoft Excel, Business Analytics, or Procurement Analytics certifications
Working Conditions
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- On-site position located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
- Occasional evening, weekend, or extended-hours work may be required based on operational or project needs.
