Procurement Manager
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to join a growing manufacturing company in Ashtabula County, Ohio! In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic management of inventory, supplier relationships, and procurement processes. You will work closely with the Purchasing Agent to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable supply chain operations while supporting the company's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain Management
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Analyze procurement data and conduct spend analysis to support decision-making
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve supplier and cost performance
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Source, evaluate, and engage reliable suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to achieve optimal value
- Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations based on quality, performance, cost, and reliability
- Perform quarterly site visits to key supplier facilities
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with the Purchasing Agent to maintain ERP system data, including lead times, reorder levels, and reorder quantities
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Shipping/Receiving teams
- Communicate and resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, pricing, or terms
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure procurement practices comply with all applicable regulations and standards
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply conditions to anticipate material availability
- Participate in trade shows and industry events to identify new sourcing opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes

- Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with daily housekeeping responsibilities
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and integrity in all interactions

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (college, university, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of ERP system experience
- Supervisory experience considered an asset
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication across all organizational levels
- High level of professionalism, ethics, and interpersonal effectiveness
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Results-driven with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
