BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE
The Procurement Analyst is accountable for the supply of goods and services to the bakeries. They need to provide strong leadership as a key point of contact between our plants and our suppliers. The Procurement Analyst is responsible for ensuring optimal supply of approved ingredients and packaging for our bakeries. This role works closely with plant operations, procurement, and suppliers.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Complete the replenishment review of required stocking levels for ingredients and packaging in designated plants
- Keep bakeries supplied with key materials. Execute release orders to approved suppliers based on existing purchasing contracts, track confirmations, follow up on orders and expedite shipments as necessary to maintain inventory levels within the guidelines
- Work closely with manufacturing and other cross functional partners across the business to identify and resolve issues and opportunities within material replenishment
- Communication of key issues and risks within scope of control
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Key contact person between bakeries and suppliers for all direct materials.
- Maintain web-based inventory planning sheets on a weekly/daily schedule as specified by BQ.
- Execute purchase orders in SAP and track confirmations to insure timely receipt of ingredients and packaging into bakeries.
- Manage packaging and ingredients transitions as a result of innovation, packaging re-design, promotional activity and product transfers.
- Collaborate with Operations to analyze and report out of the difference between the Theoretical and Real consumptions.
- Obtain and update forecasts in inventory planning sheets to support new product introductions and promotional activity.
- Review, coordinate, and place purchase orders for all bulk ingredients at designated plants.
- Review monthly analysis of slow-moving inventory and take appropriate actions to reduce obsolescence.
- Build and maintain strong business-to-business relationships with key suppliers & internal stakeholders.
- Identify, research, and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Track and expedite incoming orders as needed to insure continued production at the plants.
- Communicate risks and opportunities and escalate where required.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Role reports into BQ’s Procurement Manager
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or customer service
- Excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, SAP, and Outlook
- Comfortable with change; adaptable
- Team player able to work in a high volume, fast paced & time sensitive environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate to solve issues
- Travel to plants may be required 5%
- Position will be based onsite at our East Pointe plant with some flexibility for remote work.
