About the role:
The Principal Financial Analyst, FP&A, is a senior individual contributor and strategic finance advisor responsible for translating business strategy and leader intent into scalable FP&A processes, governance, analytics, and operating rhythms. This role works across business units, functions, and leadership teams to align priorities and assumptions, frame choices, and improve the quality and speed of decision-making. Beyond leading critical finance processes, the Principal Financial Analyst assesses the current state, defines the future state, and builds or materially redesigns processes, tools, and service models. The successful candidate combines deep FP&A expertise, systems thinking, assertive and independent thought partnership, a strong customer-service orientation, and the ability to lead complex change from concept through sustained adoption.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a strategic finance advisor to senior leaders and translate business strategy and leader intent into financial priorities, operating metrics, decision frameworks, governance, and execution cadence.
- Shape resource-allocation, portfolio, investment, cost, and performance decisions through scenario planning, business cases, sensitivity analysis, and clear articulation of tradeoffs.
- Build trusted relationships across business units and functions, create alignment around shared priorities, and resolve conflicting assumptions, dependencies, and decision criteria.
- Define and model a stakeholder-service approach that balances responsiveness, standardization, self-service, financial discipline, and strategic value, and establish clear expectations and measures of service effectiveness.
- Design, build, and continuously evolve end-to-end FP&A processes for annual planning, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, performance reviews, headcount, capital, resource allocation, and other finance mechanisms, as applicable.
- Assess current-state processes and operating models; identify gaps, control risks, duplicative work, manual effort, unclear ownership, and decision bottlenecks; define the future state and a practical roadmap tied to strategy.
- Develop scalable driver-based models, dashboards, analytical frameworks, and management-review materials that connect operational performance to financial outcomes and focus leaders on the decisions that matter most.
- Lead complex, high-ambiguity analyses and present recommendations to senior leadership, governance forums, and steering committees; ensure decisions, owners, and follow-through actions are clear.
- Set FP&A best practices, standard methods, and reusable templates; coach and mentor Senior Financial Analysts and other partners, and build ownership so improvements remain effective after implementation.
- Ensure new and existing processes comply with accounting policies, GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, data governance, and audit expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5 years+ of progressive Accounting/ Finance experience
- Experience working with Hyperion, SAP
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets. Exceptional organizational and time management skills are crucial.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial results to non-finance partners.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working with cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience in inventory / cost accounting activities within manufacturing, medical equipment, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similarly regulated, innovation‑driven industries
- Experience supporting global supply chain or manufacturing environments, including exposure to inventory management, standard costing, and quality-related processes.
- Project accounting experience strongly preferred Ability to influence business partners and drive process improvements.
- Experience leading planning-system, power Bi report building, data/ process automation, or finance-transformation initiatives.
- Experience with process improvement, workflow automation, system implementation, or change adoption.
- Experience mentoring analysts or leading project teams through influence.
