The impact this position has on Publix is improved profitability on generic pharmaceuticals, which is the lead indicator for overall pharmacy gross profit growth.

Responsibilities include:
- ensuring compliance with contractual obligations (rebates, incentives, shelf stock adjustments, failure to supply, third-party audits) defined by purchasing agreements with over 100 generic pharmaceutical suppliers and negotiating resolutions to financial disputes
- analysis and reporting of Pharmacy procurement data to Pharmacy RBU management, up to the executive level
- reconciling vendor rebates, failure to supply (FTS), and shelf stock adjustment disputes
- identifying declining third party/insurance reimbursement trends where Publix’s cost of goods remains the same, so these items can be targeted for price reductions or future Request for Proposal (RFP)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience
- 2 - 4 years’ experience performing business analysis within a purchasing department or with a pharmaceutical company

- Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration
- 5 - 7 years’ experience performing business analysis within a purchasing department or with a pharmaceutical company
- knowledge of contracts and other legal documents
- knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare laws and regulations
- knowledge of accounting practices and SOX narratives, specific to Publix
- general knowledge of the retail pharmacy business model including knowledge of distribution
- advance skill level with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, SQL, and SharePoint Online
- expert skill level with PBIS
- basic skill level with EnterpriseRX and Vendor Portal
