Responsibilities

The Payroll Tax Specialist will support the Corporate Payroll Director in the efficiency and accuracy of payroll tax reporting. The Payroll Tax Specialist will work on the organization tax compliance and processing of tax returns biweekly, quarterly and annually. They will evaluate, validate and analyze payroll documents for accuracy. Provide guidance to staffs and work on any inquiry that pertains to payroll tax issues. They will also assist with registering new entity as needed. The Payroll Tax Specialist will help in facility tax audits as needed.

Qualifications

1.    A minimum of 5 year experience in Payroll

2.    Previous hospital payroll experience

3.    Multi-state Payroll Tax reporting is required – min. 5 years

4.    Hands-on experience with Excel or equivalent. 

5.    Experience with JBDev/Kronos or similar timekeeping system.

6.    Knowledge of Wage and Hour Guidelines and Healthcare pay practices.

7.    Knowledge of payroll tax dictionary set up.

8.    Hands on experience with payroll taxes.

Preferred qualifications:

1.    College Degree preferred.

2.    Multi-state knowledge of payroll laws preferred.

3.    Knowledge of Tax Compliance preferred.

4.    Experience with union collective bargaining agreements and protocols preferred.

5.    Hands on experience with audits for 401k, DOL, W/C preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $28.00 to $40.55. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
