Experienced Tax Preparer

Neuwirth & Ashford CPAs, PLLC is a woman-owned and operated, highly rated CPA firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona. We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our growing team.

The Position

The ideal candidate has at least three years of recent experience preparing individual and business tax returns. This position will primarily focus on tax preparation, with additional accounting and bookkeeping support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for:
• Individuals
• S corporations
• C corporations
• Partnerships
• Trusts and estates
• Review client documentation and identify missing or inconsistent information
• Assist with tax research and respond to reviewer feedback
• Provide accounting and bookkeeping support, including:
• Account reconciliations
• General ledger clean-up
• Journal entries and adjustments
• Transaction coding and data entry
• Account allocations
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members
• Manage multiple assignments and meet tax-season deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• At least three years of recent tax preparation experience
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
• Experience with professional tax preparation software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and stay on task without direct oversight
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Dependable, professional, and receptive to instruction and coaching

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting or taxation
• CPA, Enrolled Agent, or current CPA/EA candidate
• Experience with Drake Tax Software
• Fiduciary tax return experience

Work Location

This is an in-office position located in Scottsdale, Arizona, near Shea Boulevard and east of Loop 101.
