Job Summary:
- Lead company's payroll tax function in SAP payroll system and coordinate with ADP tax team
- Work with company employee group to resolve tax questions and concerns
- Work with payroll team to process tax withholdings weekly within SAP payroll
- Lead tax relationship with ADP who makes payments and prepares all tax filings
- Monitor and verify that all company tax filings and notices are prepared and resolved by ADP
- Work with IT group to test changes related to tax rates and calculations within payroll system
- Ensure employee tax withholdings on company stock and relocation are accurate
- Process payroll taxes within SAP payroll weekly
- Track and monitor all payroll tax deposits and payments/returns prepared by ADP to ensure compliance
- Research any outstanding payroll tax issues and work with ADP for timely resolution of tax notices received
- Reconcile and research differences for quarterly and annual filings including Form W-2’s between SAP payroll and ADP
- Manage the set-up and closure of all tax accounts with state and local jurisdictions as needed
- Manage unemployment rates from each state to ensure proper set up of SAP payroll system by IT group
- Participate in weekly calls with IT group to ensure timely completion of payroll tax related projects
- Working with payroll team, complete payroll process for tax related steps each week
- Ensure taxes related to employee relocation and stock transactions are set up properly
- Lead the payroll effort to ensure all testing related to payroll tax changes within SAP payroll is completed timely and thoroughly
- Respond to employee questions related to payroll tax withholdings
- Ensure payroll tax processes are fully documented and such documentation easy to follow
- Act as back up to others in the payroll team for key responsibilities
- Remain current of legislation and regulatory rules that impact payroll tax
- Ensure that all payroll tax SOX controls are closed followed.
- Assist with any payroll related projects and year-end activities as requested.
- Assist team members as necessary.
- Work will include mainly U.S. payroll tax processes.
- Remote location
- Some overtime required during payroll processing situations, year-end or as special projects arise.
- No travel required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years current payroll experience on an ERP platform particularly SAP in a multi-state payroll tax environment and ADP Smart Compliance experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll and payroll taxes (federal and multi-state/local) requested.
- Ability work in a fast-pace environment where change is frequent
- Must be able to multi-task and handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Must work effectively in a team environment and be able to come to the assistance of others
- Proven initiative and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly
- Strong team member skills are a must
- Demonstrated analytical ability is a requirement
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong PC skills include Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must have the ability to take ownership of work and look for ways to improve processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable scanning documents and attaching documents on ADP portal
- Experience working with ADP a plus
