Payroll Specialist

M.G. Oil Company is searching for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our office team in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field such as Finance or Business. Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Must have experience processing payroll.
• Familiarity with PDI Payroll System is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have great time management and organizational skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in-person, and via phone/email.
• Must be able to work on-site in Rapid City, SD.

Payroll is responsible for the following:

• Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
• Calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholding's, and deductions.
• Preparing and issuing earnings statements.
• Issuing paychecks and managing direct deposits.
• Filing quarterly taxes.
• Assisting with year-end audits and running reports.
• Processing and sending W-2’s.
• Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
