As a Payroll Specialist at Elevance , you will be the backbone of our compensation operations, ensuring that every employee is paid accurately and on time while maintaining strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll cycles and tax withholdings.
• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with employees and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Process weekly, bi‑weekly, and monthly payroll runs for all eligible employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefit deductions.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, W‑2s, and other regulatory reports in compliance with applicable laws.
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay statements, deductions, and tax withholdings, providing clear explanations.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to integrate payroll data into budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Stay current on changes to payroll legislation and best practices, recommending updates to internal policies as needed.
