Payroll Specialist

OVERVIEW:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all payroll-related tasks, particularly those involving pulling fitness spreadsheets for upload into the payroll vendor system and other responsibilities associated with semi-monthly payroll submission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Processing all assigned accounts/tasks associated with a multi-state, multi-organization payroll, including being the Point of Contact (POC) for all tax accounts, payments, and new CLUB set-up with the established payroll vendor
• Act as lead in review of all changes that impact each payroll
• Generate reports detailing status of payroll concerns

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 

The Payroll Specialist reports directly to the Accounting Director but works somewhat in partnership with the CLUB4 Fitness CEO and all external resources established in support of the business and the accounting department.

• Understand expense accounts and cost centers
• Demonstrates attention to detail, precision, time management, organization, as well as Excel and related financial-based computer systems proficiency
• Positive attitude and team approach to accomplishing given objectives
• Understanding of accounting principles and fundamentals
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility and strong work ethic
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms such as Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus.

• Proven working experience as a payroll processing specialist for a complex payroll
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Associate degree in Accounting or higher preferred, however, demonstrated years of successful experience may be considered as alternative to the formal education

REQUIRED Education/Experience:

• Associate’s degree, or two (2) years or more of full-time college coursework equivalent required; or equivalent related work experience required
• 3+ Years of Payroll experience; corporate experience is a plus
• Experience supporting multiple entities under separate EIN is preferred
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable in a team-player role
• Computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
