Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for accurately processing and maintaining payroll records for an organization. Handle various payroll-related tasks, including timekeeping, data entry, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.

Essential Functions
-Collect and verify time and attendance data from employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
-Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and other adjustments based on approved timesheets or payroll reports.
-Input payroll data into the payroll system accurately and in a timely manner.
-Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholding, direct deposit details, and benefit deductions.
-Process new hire paperwork, including completing payroll setup, verifying employee data, and ensuring proper taxation and deductions.
-Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, tax withholdings, deductions, and other payroll-related matters.
Qualifications
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree Accounting preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar payroll processing role. 2-3 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations. - Proficiency in using payroll software and systems for data entry and processing (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms). - Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to employees.
