Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our HR team in Alpharetta, GA.. In this role, you will own the end-to-end payroll cycle and oversee benefits administration for our growing nationwide workforce. You will ensure that our employees are paid accurately and on time while strictly adhering to federal, state, and local compliance regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with ADP platforms and a strong background in multi-state payroll and benefits compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management:
Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly multi-state payroll for all exempt and non-exempt employees using ADP.
Ensure accurate calculation of regular wages, overtime, tax withholdings, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries, resolving discrepancies quickly and empathetically.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the ADP HRIS system (new hires, terminations, rate changes, etc.).
Benefits Administration:
Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, and retirement plans.
Lead the Open Enrollment process, coordinating with brokers and communicating options effectively to the ASD team.
Process qualifying life events, new hire enrollments, and coordinate COBRA administration for terminated employees.
Audit monthly benefit carrier invoices for accuracy and submit them to the finance department for payment.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll guidelines (e.g., FLSA).
Maintain compliance with benefits regulations, including ACA, ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
Prepare, review, and file necessary compliance reports and assist with annual audits (e.g., W-2 processing, 1095-Cs, 5500s).
Stay proactively informed on changing tax laws and labor regulations across the various states where ASD operates.
Generate regular and ad-hoc payroll and HR reports for the finance and executive leadership teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Location: Must be local to the Alpharetta, GA area and able to commute to our Alderman Drive headquarters.
Experience: 3–5+ years of dedicated experience in full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration.
Systems Knowledge: Extensive, hands-on experience utilizing ADP (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) is .
Compliance Expertise: Proven track record of successfully managing multi-state payroll compliance and a deep understanding of benefits laws.
Skills:
Meticulous attention to detail and high numerical accuracy.
Strong ethical compass and ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential employee data.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to clearly explain complex payroll or benefits concepts to employees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
