Part-Time Senior Accountant

- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and review the general ledger and research discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end close, including accruals and adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare and review monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and supporting schedules.
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity for accuracy and proper classification.
- Support payroll accounting and reconciliation.
- Assist with job, contract, and departmental cost tracking.
- Maintain supporting schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, insurance, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support annual financial statement reviews, insurance and workers’ compensation audits, and year-end accounting requests.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrections.
- Support management with financial reporting and special accounting projects.
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably with a small or mid-sized business.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting.
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience.
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies independently.
- Ability to manage priorities and work with limited supervision.
