Job Summary:**
The Material Controller at Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, Texas, is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of materials and equipment for construction projects, ensuring timely availability and cost-effective inventory control.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Manage the receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and tracking of project materials and equipment.
* Maintain accurate inventory records through a computerized system, performing regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
* Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and field personnel to forecast material needs and schedule deliveries.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies in material orders, deliveries, and stock levels.
* Ensure materials are stored safely and securely, adhering to company policies and industry best practices.
* Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely material deliveries and returns.
* Prepare and process necessary documentation for material movements, including requisitions, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
* Conduct regular audits of material handling procedures and implement improvements.
* Assist in the disposal of surplus or obsolete materials in an environmentally responsible manner.
* Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Job Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
* 2+ years of experience in material control, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in the construction or energy services industry.
* Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
* Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
* Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
* Knowledge of construction materials and equipment is highly desirable.
