Manufacturing Procurement Specialist (SAP MRP)

About the assignment

Aegis is hiring two experienced procurement professionals to support our client on a temporary engagement lasting approximately 4–6 months. You’ll be embedded with a manufacturing team and immediately contribute on day one. Aegis provides paid sick leave, and contractor benefits become available after 90 days.

Your first weeks — a day-in-the-life

Picture your morning: you open SAP, run MRP, and review exception messages to see what needs to be bought and when. You map needs to the right suppliers, create and place purchase orders, and secure vendor confirmations. As production schedules shift, you expedite critical materials, track open orders, and clear roadblocks with suppliers. Throughout the day you coordinate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Production, and Accounting/AP, keeping everyone aligned and issues resolved quickly. When questions arise, you jump into the right SAP T-codes without hesitation.

What you’ll own

• Hands-on purchasing in SAP, including MRP-driven planning and execution
• End-to-end buying: creating/placing POs, obtaining confirmations, monitoring deliveries
• Proactive expediting and issue resolution with vendors to keep lines running
• Interpreting MRP outputs to determine precise material requirements and timing
• Confident navigation of SAP transaction codes (T-codes) to move work forward fast
• Clear, organized communication across Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Production, Accounting/AP, and supplier partners

Must-have background

• 1+ year of buying experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment
• Strong, practical SAP experience on the procurement/purchasing side — ready to contribute immediately (no ramp to learn SAP from scratch)
• Proficient to advanced skills with Outlook, Teams, and Excel

Nice to have

• 3+ years of buying experience
• Advanced Excel capability
• Background purchasing components/materials from external suppliers
• Prior contract or project-based roles (ideal for this temporary backfill)
• No degree required — proven SAP and Buyer experience matter most
