What You Will do:
- Advising clients on enhancing state and local tax opportunities and managing state and local tax risk associated with mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition actions
- Analyzing state and local tax risks of target companies using tax returns, accounting information, and interviews with management
- Preparing and reviewing reports correlating state and local tax due diligence and tax structuring findings.
- Identifying issues affecting purchase price, deal structure, or deal termination
- Working closely with executives, investment bankers, private equity and corporate clients, attorneys, or other stakeholders
- Leading, supervising, recruiting, and training team members providing state and local transaction services to clients
- Managing multiple concurrent engagements
- Working alongside other Forvis Mazars team members to exceed client expectations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university or CPA eligible
- Five (5) years or more of state and local tax experience with a large public accounting or consulting firm with at least two (2) years or more of experience in Transaction Services / M&A Tax
- Strong current knowledge in state and local income, franchise and indirect tax, mergers and acquisitions, and transaction services
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- JD or master's degree in taxation preferred
- CPA license or admission to state bar preferred
- Extensive analytical and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with corporate and flow-through concepts
- Ability to develop relationships with both team members and external clients

The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Forvis Mazars reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.
Colorado Salary Range: CO Minimum Salary (USD) $ 119,500 CO Maximum Salary (USD) $ 219,000
New York City Pay Transparency
Pursuant to the pay transparency laws of New York State and other local ordinances within the state including (but not limited to) New York City, the salary range displayed is for the New York markets. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
