About the Role

The Manager, Revenue is a critical role responsible for overseeing order management and revenue operations, ensuring that customer contracts are booked accurately, revenue is recognized correctly, and the order-to-cash process runs smoothly. You will leverage AI tools and co-worker agents to automate order processing, flag revenue recognition exceptions, and accelerate month-end close, focusing your expertise on process accuracy, compliance, and team leadership.

Reporting to the Controller, this role leads the team responsible for order management and revenue accounting, partnering closely with Sales, Legal, and FP&A to ensure contracts are processed correctly and revenue is reported in compliance with ASC 606 and company policy.

What You’ll Do

Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting

• Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on ASC 606, owning and maintaining the company’s formal revenue recognition policy.
• Research and document technical accounting positions and memoranda for complex, non-standard, or new revenue arrangements, ensuring conclusions are audit-ready.
• Own and evolve standalone selling price (SSP) methodologies and allocation approaches as products, pricing, and geographies expand.

Contract Review & Deal Partnership

• Lead review of complex and strategic customer contracts, determining revenue treatment and advising on deal structure before terms are finalized.
• Partner proactively with Legal, Sales, and Order Management during deal structuring to flag revenue recognition implications early, rather than only reviewing after signature.

Fluctuation Analysis & Close Ownership

• Own the end-to-end monthly revenue close, including flux/variance analysis, and prepare clear explanations of revenue movement for executive and board-level audiences.
• Own deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract asset/liability reconciliations, ensuring balances tie to source data and the general ledger.

Internal Controls

• Design, document, and continuously improve internal controls over  the quote-to-cash cycle
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors on revenue matters, owning PBC packages, walkthroughs, and audit responses.

Internal & External Reporting

• Prepare and review revenue-related financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules for external reporting.
• Deliver management reporting and analysis that informs decisions made by FP&A, executives, and the board.

Process Automation & AI Adoption

• Lead automation and process-transformation initiatives across the revenue close and order-to-cash cycle, building or directing the build of tools that reduce manual work.
• Maintain a working practice with AI tools (e.g., LLMs, copilots) for tasks such as contract term extraction, reconciliation matching, anomaly detection, and first-draft variance narratives, with clear judgment on where AI output still requires human review.
• Drive the strategy and roadmap for revenue-related systems improvements, partnering with Engineering/Business Systems on implementation.

ERP & Systems Fluency

• Maintain deep fluency in the company’s ERP, CRM, and revenue subledger systems (e.g., Salesforce, Intacct, Billing Platform, Certinia, or equivalent), including leading system integrations or migrations affecting revenue.

What You’ll Bring

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in revenue accounting, order management, or a related accounting function.
• Track record driving AI adoption across a team or function, using AI tools to automate order processing and revenue recognition workflows.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and their application to SaaS or subscription contracts.
• Experience managing or leading a team of accounting or order management professionals.
• Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and FP&A.
• Strong attention to detail and a track record of managing accurate, timely month-end close processes.

Preferred Skills:

• CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
• Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or subscription-based business models.
• Experience with ERP and CPQ systems.
• Familiarity with AI-powered accounting or revenue automation tools.

The expected base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $145,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
