Junior Financial Analyst

Job Description

The Junior Financial Analyst is a member of the Firm's Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team and handles the reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical needs of the Finance Department. This role maintains financial data integrity, prepares recurring and ad hoc reports, participates in budget and forecast processes, and performs financial analyses that contribute to business decision-making across the Firm.

Key Responsibilities
•Prepare, maintain, and distribute recurring financial reports, dashboards, and management reporting packages.
•Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and key business insights.
•Reconcile and validate data across financial systems, reports, and databases to ensure accuracy and consistency.
•Contribute to the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes through data collection, validation, and analysis.
•Document report specifications, data definitions, and business requirements.
•Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Business Development, Human Resources, and other departments to gather data and identify reporting needs. 
•Investigate data discrepancies and work with stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner.
•Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
•    0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, data analysis, or a related field.
•    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis functions.
•    Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 

Preferred
•    Internship or prior experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Business Intelligence, or Data Analytics.
•    Exposure to financial reporting and budgeting concepts.
•    Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or other business intelligence tools.
•    Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
•    Experience with Aderant Expert or other legal/professional services financial systems.
•    Experience working with large datasets and performing data reconciliation.

Salary:

 $65,000 - $80,000 Paul, Weiss offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. The firm considers a number of factors when determining compensation, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, levels of experience, competency levels and other relevant skills and qualifications.

This is a hybrid role which requires in-office attendance in accordance with the schedule set forth by the department. A hybrid schedule is an essential function of this role.
