Opportunity Summary
NAES Corporation has an immediate opening for an Inventory Procurement Specialist to support procurement, purchasing, and inventory management across 16 Heritage Project power generation facilities. This position coordinates purchasing activities, supplier relationships, inventory control, and material availability to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.
Working closely with plant personnel, suppliers, and corporate teams, the Inventory Procurement Specialist helps maintain accurate inventory records, resolve purchasing issues, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve procurement practices across the fleet.
This is a remote position requiring approximately 15% travel, including quarterly site visits for inventory verification and related procurement and inventory activities.
Your scope of responsibility as Inventory Procurement Specialist includes the following primary functions:
- Coordinate procurement, purchasing, and inventory activities across 16 Heritage Project facilities to support plant operational needs and material availability.
- Process purchase requisitions, obtain supplier quotations, evaluate pricing and availability, issue purchase orders, and coordinate deliveries in accordance with established procedures.
- Support supplier selection, pricing negotiations, contract administration, and vendor relationships to maintain competitive costs, quality, and reliable service.
- Partner with plant personnel to identify purchasing requirements, verify material specifications, prioritize critical needs, and resolve procurement or inventory issues.
- Monitor inventory levels, material usage, and stock availability to identify shortages, excess or obsolete inventory, and opportunities to improve inventory accuracy.
- Conduct quarterly site visits to verify physical inventory, reconcile discrepancies, review warehouse and storeroom practices, and support corrective actions.
- Analyze purchasing, spending, and inventory data to identify cost-saving opportunities, material standardization, supplier consolidation, and fleet-wide purchasing efficiencies.
- Track supplier performance, purchase orders, deliveries, and purchasing activities while addressing pricing, invoicing, material quality, and fulfillment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, and inventory records in Maximo, including material data, purchasing transactions, stock adjustments, and related reporting.
- Prepare procurement, inventory, and spending reports to identify trends, monitor performance, and recommend operational improvements.
- Follow company Supply Chain policies, purchasing procedures, contractual requirements, and internal controls while supporting Supplier Diversity initiatives.
- Collaborate with plant leadership and corporate teams to improve purchasing processes, inventory management, Maximo utilization, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Perform other duties and support procurement, inventory, and supply chain initiatives as assigned.

Working Relationships
The Inventory Procurement Manager will report to the Client Services Manager and work closely with plant management teams and personnel across the 16 Heritage Project facilities, as well as suppliers, vendors, and corporate support teams.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions.
Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
The Inventory Procurement Specialist works a standard Monday to Friday day-shift schedule. This position will require extended hours, flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed to support plant operations and business needs and may also require callout availability. Depending on the position, on-call status may or may not apply.
Approximately 15% travel is required to supported facilities, including quarterly site visits for inventory verification and related procurement and inventory activities.
Compensation
This position offers an annual base salary ranging from $105,000 to $120,000 and includes eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
Technical Competencies and Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent procurement, inventory, supply chain, or relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably within power generation, manufacturing, or another industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of purchasing procedures, sourcing practices, inventory control, supplier coordination, and purchase order processing.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain supplier quotations, compare pricing and delivery terms, evaluate purchasing options, and support cost-effective procurement decisions.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices, including stock replenishment, material tracking, physical inventory counts, reconciliation, and inventory accuracy.
- Proficiency with Maximo or a comparable enterprise asset management (EAM) or ERP system for purchasing, inventory transactions, material records, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including Microsoft Excel proficiency and the ability to interpret purchasing, spending, and inventory data.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate with plant personnel, suppliers, and corporate teams while resolving purchasing and inventory issues.
- Ability to manage multiple purchasing priorities, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and follow established Supply Chain policies and procedures.
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
