The Inventory Controller will monitor inventory transactions, execute compliance controls, and support audit activities while assisting this Warehouse Department as needed.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile inventory balances between warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and financial records
- Execute inventory control procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and internal control requirements
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits across warehouse locations
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation for inventory transactions and control activities
- Analyze inventory trends, aging reports, and stock movement to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
- Support inventory reserve calculations for slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory
- Monitor inventory adjustments, scrap transactions, and material dispositions to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Develop and maintain inventory-related reports, dashboards, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Warehouse teams to ensure inventory accuracy and process alignment
- Review inventory processes and recommend improvements to strengthen controls and operational efficiency
- Assist with internal and external audit requests related to inventory and warehouse operations
- Standardize and maintain inventory procedures and work instructions to support compliance and consistency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and warehouse operations
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in inventory analysis, inventory control, auditing, accounting, or supply chain operations
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and internal controls
- Experience working with ERP and warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience supporting inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventories preferred
- Knowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, or audit processes preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environments preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, finance, and warehouse teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to sit, stand, and work in a production/warehouse environment and lift up to 25 pounds
