Key Responsibilities
The State of Utah’s Internal Audit Division is seeking an analytical, collaborative, and forward-thinking Internal Auditor to join our team. We are looking for a highly skilled communicator and analytical problem-solver to conduct professional audits, communicate strategic improvements, and partner closely with state agencies. If you have strong technical skills, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for upholding the highest standard of professional integrity (or carry a CPA, CIA, or IAP certification), this is your opportunity to do meaningful work in a dynamic team environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:
- Conduct audits in accordance with professional standards.
- Identify and communicate audit issues, technical matters, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with the divisions being audited
- Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, confidentiality, and personal conduct.
Qualifications
Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and research skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think independently and problem-solve in a results-driven, team-oriented, environment.
- Strong computer and technical skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- A professional license or certification, such as, a certified public accountant, certified internal auditor, or internal audit practitioner.
