Boart Longyear is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Corporate Tax Department. This position will play a key role in supporting the company's U.S. tax compliance and reporting functions, including income tax returns, tax provisions, tax planning, and tax research initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated tax professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and review of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns. Prepare federal and state income tax extensions, estimated tax calculations, and related payments. Support the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations, return-to-provision adjustments, and related account reconciliations. Research and analyze tax issues and provide support for positions taken on tax returns and special projects. Ensure tax activities comply with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable tax laws and regulations. Assist with identifying, documenting, and recording tax reserves. Assist with federal, state, and local tax notices, audits, and information requests. Analyze complex tax data, assess risks and alternatives, and communicate recommendations effectively. Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors on tax-related matters. Participate in tax planning initiatives and process improvement projects. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of professional tax experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department. Solid understanding of corporate income tax concepts, practices, and procedures. Experience performing tax research and technical analysis. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
