MISSION

The Associate Director, Group Accounting Standards is responsible for ensuring OPmobility’s full compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS) and French GAAP when applicable. This role provides technical leadership on accounting policies, drives normative watch and implementation, represents the Group in professional and industry bodies, and works closely with Consolidation, Hub & Cluster Accounting teams, BG Finance, Tax and Treasury teams to guarantee consistent application of accounting standards across the Group. The position plays a key role in shaping Group accounting policies, ensuring their proper deployment across all entities, and building technical expertise across the finance community through training and specialization initiatives. In addition, this role covers regulatory watch of CSRD/Taxonomy related matters, focusing on financial reporting aspects, in close coordination with the ESG teams. It also provides full support to the Consolidation team in structuring and implementing related reporting.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS 

• Develop, document, and maintain OPmobility’s accounting policies and manuals in line with IFRS and French GAAP.
• Monitor developments in accounting standards and proactively adapt Group policies to upcoming changes.
• Represent OPmobility in industry groups, committees, and professional associations on accounting matters, including financial matters relating to CSRD/Taxonomy regulations.
• Provide expert technical advice on complex accounting issues and major transactions.
• Support internal and external audit processes by addressing technical accounting matters and providing high-quality documentation. For key accounting topics, document and formalize the Group technical positions in the form of position papers which will be communicated to the Group auditors, after approval by the Group EVP and CFO and the Group Accounting Director
• Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the Group in close collaboration with Consolidation and the Global Accounting Cluster Director, along with the BG Finance and Hub teams.
• Ensure consistent application and implementation of CSRD / taxonomy reporting pertaining to Financial Data, in close collaboration with the ESG and Consolidation teams.
• Work closely with GBPO Accounting to guarantee the normative compliance of all accounting processes whether supported by systems or manual process.
• Collaborate with the Global Accounting Cluster Director to ensure local statutory and IFRS compliance of country cluster reporting processes.
• Contribute to transversal projects within the Consolidation Department, bringing technical expertise to cross-functional initiatives.
• Design training materials and deliver regular training sessions to all staff involved in the Group’s reporting process.
• Provide technical assistance to local country teams when complex IFRS issues arise.
• Manage the relationship with the Group’s external auditors, ensuring the proper execution of their missions and overseeing the Group audit budget.
• Develop and implement a specialization program for the Consolidation team, assigning IFRS thematic areas (e.g., lease accounting, fixed assets, purchase accounting…) and animating a network of normative expertise within the team.

REQUESTED PROFILE

• 10+ years of experience in accounting standards, technical accounting, or financial reporting, in multinational environments.
• Strong expertise in IFRS; knowledge of French GAAP is also required.
• Proven experience in preparing or reviewing technical accounting papers for complex transactions.
• Background in Big 4 audit or advisory firms is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a clear and engaging communication to support training to a diverse population.
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions, geographies, and hierarchical levels.
• Experience working with auditors, including budget management and coordination of audit activities.
• Education: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• French native speaker - Fluent in English.
