Financial Planning and Analysis - Financial Analyst

FP&A Analyst, Process & Data Optimization Reporting to: VP, FP&A

Position Summary We are seeking a highly analytical and technology-driven FP&A Analyst, Process & Data optimization to join our FP&A team.

This role combines financial planning and analysis with business intelligence, automation, data modeling, and process optimization. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting FP&A operations while leading initiatives focused on reporting automation, data governance, dashboard development, and the continued evolution of our Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environment.

This position is ideal for a finance professional with strong technical capabilities who enjoys transforming data into actionable insights and driving operational efficiencies through technology.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

Assist in the preparation of consolidated budgets, forecasts, and management reporting packages. Participate in month-end and year-end activities, including financial allocations, month-end reporting, and reconciliations. Perform ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support business decision-making.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

Develop and maintain enterprise Power BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and semantic models. Build and maintain complex data models using Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and Microsoft Fabric. Develop scalable reporting structures to improve visibility into financial and operational performance. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting solutions.

Data Management & Governance

Manage and optimize data flows, data transformations, and data quality processes. Support the ongoing migration and development of the company's Microsoft Fabric data platform. Collaborate with the BI team and business stakeholders to enhance data architecture and reporting capabilities. Implement and maintain best practices related to data governance, documentation, and model design.

Process Optimization & Automation

Identify opportunities to automate manual finance processes and improve operational efficiency. Lead and support automation initiatives using Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, and AI-enabled solutions. Document business processes, reporting workflows, and technical solutions. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across Finance and other business functions.

Collaboration & Project Leadership

Act as a business partner to Finance, BI, and operational teams. Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects related to business intelligence, reporting, and process transformation. Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset.

Experience

3 to 5 years of experience in FP&A, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Finance Systems, or a related field. Experience supporting enterprise reporting, automation, and financial planning processes. Proven experience delivering reporting and process improvement projects.

Technical Skills Required

Expert-level Power BI development experience. Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modeling. Experience working with Microsoft Fabric and data lake architecture. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex financial and operational modeling. Experience managing large datasets from multiple data sources. Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE).

Assets

SQL development experience. Power Automate experience. Hubble reporting experience. Exposure to AI and Microsoft Copilot technologies.
