Summary:
This exciting role combines plant controlling with financial controlling and will serve as a strong business partner for operations to drive performance and influence decision-making.It will have FP&A responsibility and oversight of financial reporting (balance sheet, P&L and cash flow + key business metrics) of two manufacturing sites, located in West Monroe (LA) and Austell (GA).
The Financial Controller II is responsible for challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to improve financial performance, processes and systems.
It will also lead and develop finance professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including coordination with internal and external auditors.
- Manage fixed assets handling, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and treasury guidelines.
- Ensure a strong internal control environment and serve as Compliance Officer for the supported units.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning in partnership with operational and commercial leaders.
- Evaluate and continuously improve financial processes, reporting tools, and systems, driving efficiency in the business.
- Analyze cost structures, standard costs, and manufacturing variances.
- Conduct product profitability and margin analysis to identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Conduct regular financial performance reviews and proactively identify operational and financial improvement opportunities.
- Provide clear financial insights to local leadership teams.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance and controlling professionals, fostering accountability and professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in controlling and financial management, preferably in industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, cost controlling, cost accounting/product costing.
- Relevant FP&A experience.
- Good critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred; SAP is a plus).
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strategic thinking and process improvement abilities.
- Occasional travel to one of the two sites, up to 25% of the time.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional up to 25 lbs.
