Position Summary

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations of the organization. This role ensures the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the effectiveness of internal controls. The Controller serves as a key financial leader, supporting executive decision-making through financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and operational insights.   The Controller manages day-to-day accounting functions, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and internal controls, while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting: - Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements - Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting - Maintain general ledger and financial reporting systems - Analyze financial performance and present actionable insights to leadership   Accounting Operations: - Direct daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger - Manage month-end and year-end close processes - Ensure compliance with GAAP   Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning: - Lead annual budgeting process and long-range financial forecasts - Monitor performance against budget and report variances   Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls: - Develop and maintain internal controls - Coordinate audits and ensure regulatory compliance   Cash & Treasury Management: - Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial transactions   Healthcare Financial Operations: - Oversee revenue cycle operations including billing, coding, and collections - Monitor payer mix and reimbursement trends - Support provider productivity reporting - Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements - Assist with cost reports and healthcare regulatory filings   Leadership & Collaboration: - Lead and develop finance staff - Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy

Qualifications

Education & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) - 5–10+ years of progressive experience - Healthcare finance experience preferred   Skills & Competencies: - Strong knowledge of GAAP - Experience with budgeting and forecasting - Understanding of healthcare finance and revenue cycle - Strong communication and analytical skills

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer or Chief Executive Officer Direct Reports: Accounting and finance staff
