POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Controller, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, and preparing projections as well as other projects that are identified.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the CFO and Controller in the annual budgeting process by providing historical data, analyzing trends, and identifying opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Perform facility level budgeting, trend, and variance analyses. Research and address questions.
- Review, analyze and ensure that monthly P&Ls are complete and accurate. Perform and provide variance analysis and respond to inquiries.
- Analyze Family Center performance, including ROI on membership campaigns and other promotions. Understanding key business drivers.
- Perform month end financial close responsibilities in accordance with close timeline.
- Identify, track and submit 3rd party revenue attendance details and data to all 3rd party agencies prior to monthly submission deadline.
- Perform market analysis using historical data to forecast market trends.
- Review, track and analyze programmatic activity and its relation to membership retention and financial optimization.
- Perform cost analysis of products, services, and programs to ensure efficiency and identify opportunities for expense control.
- Conduct cost/benefit analysis and/or breakeven analysis for various projects as assigned by Management.
- Identify and employ best practices in systems and technology to support effective financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Operations, Accounting, and Information Technology teams to design and develop process improvements and to automate and centralize processes.
- Assisting operations leadership with financial guidance, training, and resources.
- Collaborate with Accounting leadership to create or modify policies and procedures to ensure that the Association's accounting practices are in compliance and being maintained.
- Complete project management and analysis assignments and perform internal audit work as directed. Provide recommendations and presentation-ready materials based on information obtained through analysis and research.
- Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA of Central Florida in the Family Center and its programs.
- All other duties assigned by Management and Accounting leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Accounting, Finance or related field of study preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting, planning, and/or modeling required.
- Working knowledge of financial strategies.
- Microsoft Office proficiency required. Advanced Excel spreadsheet proficiency required.
- Proven ability and willingness to learn financial system applications required. NetSuite, Salesforce, Paylocity, or similar CRM experience a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as critical thinking ability.
- Excellent math, statistical and technical financial analytical skills.
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and strong business planning skills.
- Ability to treat confidential information with sensitivity.
- Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required.
- Hybrid Work Environment: This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes both in-office and remote work. Hybrid schedules are determined based on business needs, operational priorities, and leadership approval. This is not a fully remote position.
- Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have a valid Florida driver license.
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment.
- Must possess auditory, verbal and visual capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person.
- May be required to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. in various forms.
- Must be capable of working closely with all levels of management and under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment with limited direction and meet multiple concurrent deadlines.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
