Job Description

The Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands is looking for a self-motivated and adaptable Financial Analyst I to join our team. Key Responsibilities

• Process, manage accounts payable.
• Maintain files and databases.
• Responsible for month and year end processing and closing.
• Provide backup coverage to payroll.

Qualifications

• Ability to ensure compliance with contract terms, policies and procedures, etc.
• Ability to use logic to analyze and identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
• Skill and ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
• Critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of principles, theories and practices of accounting.
• Knowledge of federal grant management and reporting.
• Ability to prepare financial reports and documentation.
• Ability to provide consultation and/or expert advice.
• Skill and ability to plan, organize and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
• Have the ability to collaborate and work closely with various business, IT and management teams.
• Detail oriented and meticulous in their work.
• At least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or another related subject or least 5 years of experience in a related field. 

Supplemental Information

• Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
• Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
• Telework optional after 6 months.
• Must reside in Utah.
