Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a Michigan-based CUSO in the search for a Financial Analyst. This position will play a key role in supporting commercial credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, and risk management activities while working closely with lending, underwriting, and portfolio management teams.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience working with financial statements and credit data, and advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities:
- Support commercial credit and portfolio management functions while maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
- Prepare periodic borrower reviews and monitor compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements.
- Track and maintain portfolio risk indicators, including risk ratings, annual reviews, collateral inspections, delinquency trends, loan classifications, and reserve requirements.
- Assist with portfolio monitoring and reporting activities related to asset quality and portfolio performance.
- Review and evaluate collateral supporting commercial loans, including appraisals, environmental reports, and other due diligence materials.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other credit information to assess borrower performance and credit risk.
- Prepare credit memorandums and underwriting analyses for new loan requests, modifications, and annual reviews.
- Utilize financial models and spreadsheet analysis to calculate ratios, evaluate trends, and compare borrower performance against industry benchmarks.
- Support portfolio risk management initiatives through reporting, data analysis, and system enhancements.
- Assist with pipeline management and coordination of credit packages for underwriting review.
- Maintain accurate and complete credit files in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional credit, financial analysis, and risk management duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess financial performance and credit risk.
- Experience analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and commercial credit relationships preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, reporting, and data analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and financial information in support of sound credit decisions.
