Financial Analyst (1-Year Term)

Hennessy Collective is partnering with a respected organization to recruit a Financial Analyst for a one-year term. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical finance professional who enjoys partnering with business leaders, supporting strategic decision-making, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing finance team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the development of budgets, forecasts, business plans, and financial models.
• Perform detailed budget-to-actual analysis and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
• Partner with Cost Centre Managers to review spending, analyze expenses, and ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Prepare and maintain cash flow statements and forecasts.
• Complete month-end reconciliations, account analyses, working papers, and journal entries while ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support Project Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable activities as required during month-end.
• Assist with annual financial statement audits, government audits, corporate tax schedules, and regulatory reporting.
• Build strong working relationships across the organization and contribute to ongoing process improvements.

You're someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving complex financial challenges, and turning data into meaningful business insights. You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate well with stakeholders across the organization, and are just as comfortable preparing month-end reconciliations as you are supporting budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.

What We're Looking For

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in an intermediate-level accounting or financial analysis role.
• CPA designation in progress is considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, and working with large data sets.
• Experience with Oracle EBS is an asset.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Additional Requirements

• Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is required.
