Position Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide leadership and oversight for financial operations within a hospital environment. This senior leadership role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for departmental strategy, financial management, operational performance, compliance oversight, staff leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial department operations and ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental objectives, policies, and operational standards.
- Manage departmental budgets, financial planning activities, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and oversee internal and external audit processes.
- Monitor operational performance, service quality, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Lead workforce planning activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, staff development, and corrective actions when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on accountability, professional growth, and operational excellence.
- Analyze complex business and financial issues and develop practical solutions.
- Work with confidential and sensitive financial and organizational information.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and department leaders to support organizational objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA.
- Prior leadership experience managing teams and departmental operations.
- Strong financial, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Experience making independent decisions and leading operational improvements.

- Experience applying business office policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Healthcare finance or hospital financial management experience.
- Staff management and employee development experience.
- Knowledge of business office standards and recommended practices.
