Entry-Level Staff Accountant Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, take ownership, and gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of accounting. The Staff Accountant will support Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), purchase orders (POs), reconciliations, sales tax, and month-end close. We are also looking for someone who is comfortable leveraging AI and technology to improve efficiency and streamline accounting processes. Key Responsibilities

Support day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.

Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee expenses.

Prepare customer invoices and assist with collections and cash application.

Create, track, and reconcile purchase orders (POs).

Assist with bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Prepare basic journal entries and supporting documentation.

Assist the Finance team with month-end and year-end close activities.

Help maintain accurate general ledger records and research discrepancies.

Assist with sales tax compliance and reporting using Avalara.

Maintain organized documentation for audits and financial reviews.

Work with internal departments to resolve billing, invoice, and PO questions.

Leverage AI tools and automation to improve accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, and overall efficiency.

Assist with ad hoc Finance and Accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

0–2 years of accounting experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Basic understanding of accounting principles, including AP, AR, and general ledger accounting.

Strong Excel skills and willingness to learn new financial systems.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Comfortable working with technology and utilizing AI tools to increase productivity and improve processes.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Preferred / Nice to Have

Experience or familiarity with Avalara for sales tax compliance.

Experience with Certinia (FinancialForce) is a strong plus.

Previous internship or entry-level experience in Accounting or Finance.

Exposure to ERP, accounting, billing, or expense-management systems.
