The Role
As Director of Procurement – Professional Services, you will lead the global sourcing and category management strategy for a diverse portfolio of professional services, including Marketing & Media, Creative & Digital Agencies, Consulting, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Corporate Services and Contingent Workforce.
You will serve as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, ensuring procurement enables growth, innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage. This role requires a commercially minded leader who can balance cost optimization with business value, supplier innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping procurement strategy, driving transformation initiatives, and building a world-class supplier ecosystem that supports the company's ambitious growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Value Creation
- Develop and execute global category strategies across Professional Services spend areas.
- Identify opportunities to drive value beyond savings, including innovation, speed-to-market, quality improvements, and risk reduction.
- Deliver measurable financial benefits through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and demand management initiatives.
- Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies to inform procurement strategies.
Business Partnership
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Digital, HR, Finance, Legal, Technology, and Corporate Functions.
- Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and procurement best practices.
- Support key business initiatives, transformation programs, and organizational change efforts.
Supplier Management & Innovation
- Lead strategic supplier relationship management programs with key agency, consulting, technology, and professional service partners.
- Foster supplier innovation and collaboration to support brand growth, digital transformation, and operational excellence.
- Establish performance management frameworks and governance structures to ensure supplier accountability and continuous improvement.
Procurement Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team across multiple regions and categories.
- Champion category management excellence, procurement capabilities, and talent development.
- Drive adoption of procurement tools, analytics, and digital technologies to enhance decision-making and efficiency.
- Promote sustainable procurement practices and responsible sourcing across the supply base.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of procurement experience, including significant leadership responsibility within global organizations.
- Deep expertise in Professional Services procurement, including Marketing, Media, Agencies, Consulting, Technology Services, and Corporate Functions.
- Experience within consumer goods, retail, e-commerce, or other fast-moving commercial environments preferred.
- Proven track record of delivering business value, cost optimization, and supplier-led innovation.
- Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience leading global teams and influencing senior executives in matrix organisations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
